Dear conscious human,
Congratulations on completing the Transforming Conflict in Community course!
🎁 In today’s lesson we’re going to tie it all together for you.
Over the past 7 days we’ve jumped in as deeply as a short course will allow us to take you through the journey of navigating conflict within conscious coliving and community. We’ve covered how to set yourself up to avoid unnecessary conflict, and when it does arise the best practices you can use to work through it.
Ultimately transforming conflict builds stronger communities and greater resilience in the individual and the collective. This provides us with more opportunities to build a weller, wiser world together, otherwise it would have all been in vain, and the conflict hasn’t served any real purpose. \
✍️ What has been one or two things from these seven days that have really stayed with you in relation to transforming conflict?
Let's recap the key principles and insights from the past 6 days
Here are 6 points that if you really take on you’ll be able to start transforming conflict today.
- Taking the time to understand the key areas where conflict can arise in coliving in advance can help you to put in place avoidance strategies to mitigate unnecessary conflict.
- When the inevitable conflict does happen, remember it is an opportunity, not a problem and that utilizing one of the conflict resolution processes outlined in day 6 will help.
- There is a huge difference between feedback and criticism. We want feedback and to ensure you have shifted into a view perspective, taking in the bigger picture.
- However, feedback is only useful if you’re able to integrate it. Therefore, taking accountability, showing up and embodying the wider lessons and learnings is a key trait required for both individual and group transformation.
- This means you need to do the deeper work, developing emotional intelligence and insight into yourself continuously, and working on feeding your hungry ghost.
- Finally, remember not all expressions of conflict will look the same, so regular, open and honest discussions are needed to keep a community and its members healthy.
Come to a residency
Are you ready to dive in deeper and tie together all your learnings so far? Then come and join us at a residency!
Our residencies take place at The Bergerac Praxis Hub and are a perfect container for you to get involved in a conscious coliving community, and experience some of the practices we use to transform or avoid conflict.
The Bergerac Praxis Hub navigates conscious coliving through daily collective practices.
These community practices can be summarized around 5 MVPs - Minimal Viable Practices. These are a set of practices to cultivate personal growth, community building, and a deep(er) connection with oneself and the world.
These practices include sitting (1) or moving collectively (2), engaging in daily activities such as cooking (3), cleaning and repair works (4), and participating in weekly circling sessions (5). Each of the practices, and the time spent at the residencies, involves being fully present, open, and receptive to the world, and emphasizes the importance of interconnectedness and interbeing. You might be surprised at how insightful this method may be for you too!\
You can learn more about the Praxis Ecology here.
